We were staying in Anna Maria for the weekend and the sun was HOT. The perfect ice cream kind of day. After reading reviews on Two Scoops, we decided to swing by and check it out. Apparently so did the rest of the island. It was packed! I gave this place three out of five stars because, to be honest it wasn't that impressive. It had your typical ice cream parlor flavors... Superman, cookie dough, birthday cake, mint chocolate chip, etc. They also had newer fun flavors like black raspberry and trash can (snickers, Reese's, Oreos, chocolate, vanilla and other candy bars all mixed up together). I got the muddy sneaker (snickers, Reese's and vanilla) in a waffle cone. The title alone had my mouth watering, but once I took a bite the excitement subsided. It was very bland. If I was blindfolded I definitely wouldn't have been able to decipher the flavors. Was it a little underwhelming.... Yeah. But did it satisfy my sweet tooth? Of course! So I guess mission accomplished.

Best ice cream on the island! My favorite was the black raspberry and the muddy sneaker! Their cones are great. Usually they get mushy and don't taste that good but these ones were awesome it can get really busy after dinner but beside that it's awesome

OMG BIRTHDAY CAKE ICE CREAM ON A WAFFLE CONE!!!!!! That should be enough to get most kids in the door and some adults that still enjoy great ice cream, so many great flavors and giant scoops YUM!!! I couldn't decide I understand why the kids have such a tough time making their decision. The owners are great and have lots of patients for those of us who walk back and forth in front of the glass case trying to decide. Located right across from the beach and City Pier its impossible to miss. Lots of room inside to sit as well as lots of benches around the strip mall. The store has great decor and is very clean. I definitely will return again and again hope to try the food one day but only if there's room left for lots more ice cream.

If you are looking for a nice creamy treat while walking on the board walk this is a great place to go. It is average price for ice cream (about $4 each). We got 2 split bowls, one with blueberry and birthday cake, and the other with trash can and birthday cake. It was good ice cream but it was a bit more sugary and less creamy than I was hoping for. I would go back

While on the island I have tried a Few of the ice cream shops and this one was the best! Tons of fun choices to choose from. Parking can be hard tho

Love this place! The hot dogs are off the hook great! Very tasty and even unique! I can't get enough! Even the ice cream is killer! Peanut butter fudge is off the hook good! Go big and get a double on a waffle cone! Go for it! You won't regret it!

My family LOVES 2 scoops! It's our go to spot in the most gorgeous place in Florida. Being a Northerner I am of course, fussy. We have some great ice cream places in my area (Richardson's!) but, there is something so special about this place. The ice cream is great. It's never old and frosted over. The cones are freshly made and the shakes...delicious!!! My daughter devours the chocolate shakes! I have never seen a shake made with so much ice cream. No cost cutting shortcuts here. Our first time here we got lunch. Everything was cooked perfectly and the chili dogs were so good. The employees are very patient and the service is excellent. It's a cute little place. A decent seating area but it gets crowded. It's so nice to grab a cone and go sit by the pier. There is literally not a place in the world I'd rather be. Just writing about this place makes me want SO much to be in Anna Maria!

This is a lovely ice cream shop with good choices and good prices. I wanted mint chip but they were out, shucks. But overall this place rocks. Woo hoo!

Fun place to get ice cream. Kiddie scoops are a hit with the kids, and a single comes with 2 good sized scoops. Where else can you go and hear Janis Joplin, eat ice cream and have Betty Boop on display?

Small coffee / ice cream shop in a quaint shopping center. Perfect, we will go again. Friendly staff. public bathrooms. It would be nice if they could add a changing table in the bathroom.

Good place for ice cream near the beach with nice variety of flavors. (4 stars) However, the very rude behavior of one older employee will dissuade me from returning to this establishment. (1 star)

3 to 3.5 stars, as I'm comparing against Joe's ice cream down the road. A cute little ice cream shop or two is a requirement in the daily scene of life on a vacation island such as Anna Maria, so it's great to see a local shop such as Two Scoops hold their own on this end of the island. Although I personally prefer the quality of the ice cream and the Gulf side beach access at Joe's down the road in Bradenton Beach (see my review for deets), there's nothing fundamentally wrong with Two Scoops. They are definitely A-OK in my book, and they do have ample indoor seating, with a nice view of the Lagoon/ICW from the front. I didn't try the raved-about hot dogs, so I can't comment on their quality; I simply came to Two Scoops seeking ice cream and a coffee, and an escape from an unusually windy and cloudy late winter afternoon in AMI. Plenty of visibility into the ice cream case, which I know from my days working in an ice cream shop is very popular with the little ones. Although I am tempted to go on a soapbox about artificially-colored ice creams, I'm sure the kidlets who come here with their parents go ga-ga for the "Superman" ice cream and "Mint" ice cream, if for nothing other than the brightly-colored swirl of neon colors dipped in sprinkles and gummi bears. Ice creams are purportedly made on-site, which I always find appealing. Self-serve coffee in an easily-accessible corner of the shop away from hustle-and-bustle of ice cream and hot dog patrons. They also have an espresso/latte machine behind the counter if you fancy an espresso drink. Always busy here it would seem, even on the chilly, rainy day I stopped in. Kids and adults alike seemed pleased, and there's some local merchandise and old-fashioned candy for sale along the back wall.

Ok ice-cream. Works for a late night sugar fix. But nothing special. There are better places for ice cream on the island. Check those out instead.

Not the best ice cream I've ever had but I can't complain. If you're staying on the island close to Pine St then the location is perfect. You can take your ice cream across the road to the beach or walk on the pier. What I loved was that they're open until 10 pm.

Went here with a friend of mine to grab lunch before hitting the beach. The food was good and not too badly priced. The feel of the whole restaurant was really cutsie and chipper however there was an older woman working behind the counter who was quite the opposite. She wasn't very friendly and made my friend and I both feel like we were stupid for being there. Sorry doing your job is such an inconvenience. We had plans of trying the ice cream but decided against it due to poor service. Sadly, I'll to say this was our first and last time at Two Scoops.

Good place, that has ice-cream so I'll keep it short. Right down the street from Rod and Reel and across the street from another pier restaurant, in a "strip-mall," of sorts. Throw-back to an old-school ice-cream joint and we dug it. Lots of people when we got there, no one in line. The wife and I each got 2 scoops. Great selection of ice-cream flavors. Reeses (peanut butter ice-cream with mini-peanut butter cups) and blueberry pie on mine (don't judge, I couldn't decide what I wanted, so I went with both). Wife was rocky road and some fruit ice-cream flavor (I can't remember). No complaints here. Good service, good ice-cream, what more could you ask for.

This is a must stop if you're ever on the island and you love frozen concoctions. My first time here I was amazed at the flavors and combinations. I settled for gator tracks and was not disappointed. It was creamy, chunky, sweet, salty, and super rich. I would imagine a huge butter fat content is needed to achieve this much creamy goodness. Tons of peanut butter, peanut butter cups, chocolate fudge and brownie chunks. My second visit I was more adventurous and went with the salted caramel. Now this was a treat. The sea salt brings out so much more caramel flavor. Again, a perfect combination of salty & sweet, a combination so popular today. Make sure your sweet tooth is cranked up and try the decadent ice cream here.

Can't speak to the food but the ice cream is seriously lackluster. Tried it three times, and decided the Breyers from the grocery was much better. There is also a sour milk smell to the shop. Giving three stars because the t-shirts with their logo are adorable. Going home with 7 of them!

What a great little ice cream shop. Lots of flavors! Gator tracks was a favorite with me and my daughter!! Price was good and service was quick and efficient! Eat fast if you are going to stroll the pier with your treat. Ice cream and Florida heat don't quite mix as well as cherry ice cream on top of chocolate ice cream. Who doesn't love waffle cones!

Delicious ice cream and a charming location right across the street from the beach. There were so many different flavors of ice cream that we wanted to try, so this will become one of our regular spots to get dessert when we visit the island! Check it out and enjoy!

Phenomenal ice cream, great staff and a fun atmosphere. The shop is in a great location right beside some benches where you can race against time to finish your cone before it ends up in a puddle. Great fun.

This ice cream shop is the BOMB!!! I checked out a different one today and I realized how this one needed 5 stars instead of 4 - for sure! Best ice cream on the island. And awesome flavored too. Get the Garbage Can - it has a little of every favorite candy bar! Oh my!! I loved the coffee with Heath bar crunch ice cream - my favorite!! They have candy here too! Oh and just know that the single scoop is really a DOUBLE! ( two scoops!!) I will be back a few more times during this trip!

Great ice cream and candy shop. Eat in, just outside or across the street on the beach or along the city pier. Great location and reasonable prices.

Having ventured out to the Pier restaurant and been disappointed in the prices, particularly for lunch, we headed back to Two Scoops. They've got great prices, friendly service, and a fun atmosphere. It's great for a family - with lots of bright colors and ice cream to distract the kids and great music and prices for adults. We got the Two Scoops Dog, a grilled cheese on wheat, and an egg salad sandwich, all for less than $15. They even packaged it all to go for us. The Two Scoops Dog comes with chili, cheese, and onions. Jimmy said that it hit the spot. The egg salad was deliciously simple, served with lettuce and tomato on wheat. A grilled cheese is pretty hard to mess up, particularly when a hungry toddler is concerned. I would definitely go back to try all the beautiful ice cream flavors in the cases.

Here is such a ice cream lovers paradise. I had caramel, pecan, walnut ice-cream and hubby had the almond joy; both were yummy.

Ok, so I admit I got the same thing every time we went, but the other people I went with got different flavors, some of which I got to taste. All good! I got Gator Tracks, others got Birthday Cake, Sea Salt & Caramel, Cotton Candy, Peanut Butter, and Chocolate.

Really good ice cream flavors and always very friendly as well. Their single is a two scoop cone and delicious. Even their sandwiches are very very good. We always stop in at lunch here.

Good ice cream, great waffle cones! It's a popular spot and was crowded inside during our visit. There is no "official" two scoops seating outside, but we sat on a bench elsewhere in the shopping complex. A quick walk across the street from the Anna Maria City Pier.

This is the perfect spot to grab dessert after having lunch at Moore's Stone Crab in Longboat Key. The drive north on Gulf Drive towards Ana Maria Island is gorgeous. This combo is definitely a must for the "Tampa Things to Do" list. If you like small, nice little shops that are out of the way, nice long drives along the beach and between barrier islands, and delicious ice cream, add Two Scoops to your destination list in a discovery trip along the Gulf of Mexico. This is as good as it gets.

Love this place. You can even get breakfast here--decent and really affordable. Then you can top it off with a chili dog. And of course the ice cream. The cones are decently sized for the price--unlike other seaside places. We had the coffee crunch and it was delicious and creamy. We will go back before we leave!

Good ice cream and a great deal. The one scooper was plenty and was reasonable priced. This place is far superior to Dips, which happens to be right down the street.

A nice end to an evening with the family. Delicious ice cream and the friendliest service we've had while on vacation. Definitely worth a trip!

The minute you walk in here you are greeted with smiling faces behind the lengthy ice cream counter and a rush of families all happy and enjoying themselves. Even without the amazing ice cream you are instantly a kid again on vacation with no care in the world except getting that perfect cone or scoop! Loads of flavors, all creative and delicious. They keep the traditional chocolate and vanilla with a few fun flavors such a coconut, birthday cake, "trash can" and Cookie Monster. Very fair prices for the ice cream ($3.46 after tax for my two large scoops in a cup) and there are plenty of indoor tables to sit down and enjoy it in the A/C or there are benches outside to people watch. Also, my favorite location, you can cross the street and walk down the main city Pier while you enjoy your frozen deliciousness!
